logic is baller as fuck.
here is what scares the fuck out of me when I talk to members of the anti-choice camp.
I have boiled down the objections to abortion to two alternate lines of reasoning (if you can call it that):
1. You object to abortion because it disrupts the potential for an eventual human child.
2. You object to abortion because killing a fetus is morally equivalent to killing any other human being.
Each set of reasoning is contingent on the other being false. If I do not think that fetuses are persons, I must object on the grounds of potentiality — that a fetus will, if left to develop, most likely turn into something that qualifies for personhood. If potentiality is meaningless to me, and I still claim that abortion is a form of murder, then I must equate the termination of unconscious cells with coldblooded slaughter.
